Professional Biography - A. Nicholas Gianitsos, MD
Dr. Nick Gianitsos is Medical Director of the Mercy Men's Health Center, a part of the Mercy Health System of southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. He is also a staff urologist at the Mercy Regional Urology Center.
Dr. Gianitsos was raised in the Connecticut shoreline town of Westbrook. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University, College of Liberal Arts, and graduated summa cum laude. In his undergraduate sophomore year, he was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship and began his medical studies at Boston University School of Medicine. He then completed an internship and residency in urology at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.
In addition to an active clinical practice, Dr. Gianitsos is involved in clinical research in the areas of erectile dysfunction, overactive bladder, and female sexual dysfunction. A frequent presenter, Dr. Gianitsos' other duties involve resident training, writing for scientific and lay publications, and serving on the editorial board for Men's Total Health Digest. He is a member of the newly formed Pelvic Health Consortium.
Dr. Gianitsos is a fellow of the International College of Surgeons. He is a member of the American Urological Association, American Association of Clinical Urologists, the Society for Sexual Medicine, and the newly formed, International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health.
