J.C. McWilliams, MBA

Dean Health Insurance, Inc.
J.C. McWilliams is the Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Contracting for Dean Health Insurance, Inc. (DHI), a provider-sponsored health plan in Madison, Wisconsin with more than 275,000 members. He has served on the senior management team at DHI for the last three years and been with DHI for six years. Mr. McWilliams’ core responsibilities include corporate strategy development and planning, health system (reimbursement) contracting strategy, provider network management and development, provider and corporate contracting, and related operations management.
Prior to his current role, Mr. McWilliams was Director of Network Services at DHI, Administrator of Decision Support & Financial Planning for Dean Health System, Director of Contract Administration for University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, and has held other consulting and analytical positions in health care administration.
Mr. McWilliams currently serves on the advisory board for Global Medical Alliance, a firm which connects medical device manufacturers with independent sales representatives, and previously served on the board of directors for the Wisconsin Forum for Healthcare Strategy. In addition, he serves as the chief business advisor to the owners of Siren Fitness, LLC, a women’s fitness boutique in Madison.
Mr. McWilliams earned his Bachelor’s degree from Metropolitan State University in the Twin Cities, Minnesota and an MBA from Edgewood College in Madison, Wisconsin. In addition, he earned a Managed Healthcare Professional designation from America’s Health Insurance Plans. He lives in Verona, Wisconsin with his wife, Alison.
